The room is crowded, but there isn’t any overlooking Isaac. I follow the signs to the ballroom and when I step inside the festivities are well underway. The mosaic tile, the colorful murals, the mix of past and present, it’s breathtaking. When I step in through the hotel’s front doors, I’m taken by the artistic details. The white lights that overhang the driveway are just the beginning. It’s amazing to think that this place was just a group of old, creepy, abandoned buildings not that long ago. I pull up the long gravel driveway and into the Brew by Brewer property.

And if not, at least my brother had the decency to get me a sweet hotel room so I can drink without having to worry about driving home. Maybe tonight is the night I’ll finally break him. Try as I have along the way, Isaac has never treated me as anything more than Nate’s kid sister. He makes everyone he meets feel like the most beautiful person in the room but anyone can see that he holds that title. There’s a charisma about him that you just want to be around. Isaac’s tall with dark hair and even darker eyes. The two of them have been best friends all my life. Even though this isn’t exactly what I wanted to spend my night doing, photographing the Misty Mountain class of 2001 high school reunion means that I’ll get to spend the night hanging out with my brother’s business partner Isaac. I hop into my car and make the drive across town to The Hotel at Brew by Brewer. My photography skills aren’t great, but at least I look the part. My brother and his best friend Isaac require all of the employees at their media company to wear solid black at events. “I’m on it, see you soon.” When I hang up with my brother I put on an all-black ensemble.
